Meet Millie

Millie is four, lives in NSW and has a huge love for wildlife—especially snakes and other reptiles. A walk with her often becomes a rubbish-collecting mission, followed by her proud announcement: “Mummy, I saved another turtle!”

With her family beside her, Millie makes bracelets using donated and repurposed beads and fundraises at reptile events. 100% of the money from her bracelet sales is donated to Wildlife Warriors, with costs covered separately by her family and supporters. She is a registered Visionary Wildlife Warrior, independently raising funds for the conservation charity founded by Steve and Terri Irwin.

Australia Zoo has accepted her bracelets for its Handmade Heroes program. Next, she’s bringing her Wildlife Rescue Bead Bar to the Sustainable Future Festival at The Entrance on 14 November 2026. She hopes to show other children that you’re never too little to make a difference.

Conservation projects for little hands

Explore practical, family-friendly ways to protect wildlife, reduce waste and care for Australian habitats. Some projects are underway, while others are in development as we organise safe arrangements, permissions and future collaborators.

Community Clean-Ups — Planned

Family-friendly clean-ups will invite children and carers to remove litter from suitable local areas and help protect wildlife habitats. Activities will be supervised, permission-led and planned with safety in mind; register your interest to hear when dates and locations are confirmed.

Turtle Rescue Mission Kits — In development

Turtle Rescue Mission Kits are being developed to help families collect rubbish safely together. Planned contents include children’s gloves, bags and simple wildlife activities in reusable fabric bags. The goal is to keep rubbish away from turtles and other marine life, while building everyday conservation habits.

Creative Conservation — Underway

Children can turn donated and repurposed beads into something special while learning about waste reduction and wildlife protection. Millie’s handmade bracelet fundraising supports Wildlife Warriors, the charity founded by Steve and Terri Irwin.

Wildlife Education — Future

We are planning engaging visits and activities for schools, childcare centres and community events. Children will explore marine plastic pollution, reptiles, native Australian wildlife and how everyday choices can protect habitats.

Wildlife Conservation Partnerships — Growing

We are building connections with educators, conservation organisations, local businesses and community groups that share our vision. Future collaborations may create more safe conservation experiences for families while supporting turtles, reptiles, marine animals and wider Australian wildlife.

Small actions. Real milestones.

Small hands. Cleaner beaches.

A few helpful answers

Learn about our initiative, future clean-ups and ways to help.

Millie’s Wildlife Rescue is an independent, family-led conservation initiative based in NSW. We encourage children and families to care for wildlife through everyday actions and creative projects.

Millie is a registered Visionary Wildlife Warrior and independently fundraises for Wildlife Warriors, the charity founded by Steve and Terri Irwin. This initiative is not a registered charity, an official branch of Wildlife Warriors, or a licensed wildlife rescue and rehabilitation service. For injured or distressed wildlife, contact a qualified local wildlife rescue organisation.

Family-friendly community clean-ups are in development. Parents and carers can register their interest through the website so we can share updates when suitable locations, dates, permissions, safety arrangements and insurance are confirmed.

Children must participate with a responsible adult. Litter collection should always be limited to safe items using suitable gloves and bags; never touch sharp, hazardous or unknown materials, and contact the relevant local authority when needed.

Turtle Rescue Kits are being developed to help children and families collect safe litter while learning how waste can affect wildlife. Each reusable fabric bag is planned to include reusable children’s gloves, rubbish collection bags and simple wildlife education activities.

The kits are for safe, supervised litter collection—not handling turtles or other wildlife. Millie’s Wildlife Rescue is not an animal rescue service; injured or distressed animals should be referred to qualified wildlife professionals.

100% of the money from Millie’s bracelet sales is donated to Wildlife Warriors. Her family covers the costs, with generous help from supporters who donate beads, materials and supplies.

Australia Zoo has accepted her bracelets for sale through its Handmade Heroes program. You can also donate directly to Wildlife Warriors through Millie’s personal fundraising page using the donation button on this website.

Schools, childcare centres and community groups can enquire about future conservation education, creative workshops and safe litter-awareness activities. These programs are still being developed, so enquiries help us understand what educators and families need.

Businesses can contribute suitable materials, expertise, printing, supplies or conservation opportunities. Confirmed supporters, potential collaborators and formal partnerships will be clearly distinguished, and supporter names, logos or stories will only be published with permission.
